We returned today from 6 days and 5 nights in Disney World! Anyone who knows our sensitive, picky-eating, low endurance kids knows that we were extremely nervous about how they'd handle the chaos that is Disney. I'm happy to report that we survived! We had mostly good days on our trip. It was an exercise in patience for all of us. The kids had to endure long lines (at most 20 minutes) and long waits for parades, fireworks, and performances. The adults had to endure the kids. :) Ross & I are ready to go back by ourselves! We hadn't been since our honeymoon almost 9 years ago, and it's a VERY different experience w/o kids! We learned that Alex is deathly afraid of ALL the characters and any kind of dark ride (which is most of them). We learned that a meal plan package is a bad idea when you have super-picky eaters. We also learned that it's ok to eat ice cream for lunch and crackers and frozen cokes for dinner. :)
After all is said and done, Andrew's favorite things were the Star Tours ride and Jedi training in Hollywood studios and the Buzz Lightyear ride at Magic Kingdom (which we rode 5 or 6 times). Alex's favorite things were the Buzz Lightyear ride, watching an elephant pee on the Animal Kingdom safari and "buying things." I kid you not....that's what he said. :) We are tired (exhausted is more appropriate). We have sore feet and legs. We are ready to have our spacious house back with regular, non rock-hard pillows. We are craving decent food and non-Disney TV. We miss Mickey, but we were ready to come home today. Who knows...maybe we'll be ready to go back in a few years!
The view from our hotel (Pop Century). Yes, that's a 4 story big wheel out front!
