andrew who?

Just wanted to throw in a few pictures of Andrew--the child who used to be terrified of his own shadow....who hid behind my legs in order to avoid attention....who took so long to speak and be social that we worried about him. As you can see, it's not an issue anymore.....
Andrew and his buddy (Miss T) at the school sock hop last month (it's dark so you might not see that his hair is day glo orange).....
He WANTED to hold this snake at the neighborhood movie night last month! The weight of it nearly knocked his 40 lb self over!!

let us give thanks...

...for friends that we can spend Thanksgiving with when family is too far away....
....for finally having enough ornaments to necessitate a "kids" Christmas tree....

...for 5 minutes of peace & quiet so mommy can blog. Happy Holidays! :)

boys will be boys

Ross & Andrew went on a cub scout camping trip last weekend and managed to come home in one piece. In addition to the cold weather, they survived wind and rain the first night, raccoons and deer with no fear of humans, wild 6-11 year olds with a little too much energy, and a camp stove that wouldn't work. I'm pretty sure they lived on smores, peanuts & chips all weekend......
Alex & I bailed out when we saw the forecast was 35 degrees one night. No thanks! I'm too much of a girly-girl for that! We stayed home and saw a movie, ate ice cream, and had playdates. I'll take a spa day over camping any time.... :)

Happy Halloween!

After many hours of waiting in anticipation, it finally got dark here in Houston, and the boys were able to trick or treat! Alex was Po from Kung Fu Panda (he'll show you his karate moves if you ask) and Andrew was Mr. Incredible. They filled their bags twice with daddy while mommy stayed home and stamped Christmas cards (don't laugh) and passed out candy. They happily handed over the candy they didn't like (who doesn't like peanut butter cups??) and went to bed sugar-shocked. Happy Halloween!
