fall fun

It's finally looking like fall in Houston, and Andrew's Tiger den went to an orchard yesterday. We went on a hayride, played on hay bales, picked a pumpkin, and enjoyed one of the last 85 degree days (it's only 69 today!). We also got to see a hundred year old house and learn about life in the "olden days"--no Nintendo Wiis?? The boys are beyond excited for Halloween (only 4 days left), and we'll post more pictures then. In a few weeks: the scouts go camping! Should be interesting....

little men

I finally found our camera (conveniently located right in front of my nose for the last week) and snapped some picts this morning. Missing from the line up is Andrew receiving his Bobcat badge at a scout ceremony Thursday night and his school sock hop where he was sporting day-glo orange hair, a painted-on mustache and a googly headband. Hopefully, someone will send me copies of these so I can share them. Today, however, Andrew is learning to help daddy with the yard chores (a boy scout requirement--that he be helpful around the house). Alex didn't want to partake of the instruction. He just wanted to enjoy some outside time in the 65 degree weather (yay fall!). Notice the Michigan apparel.....we are sadly hopeful that we might pull out a win against Penn State this afternoon! Go blue!

We also have to add in Andrew's second missing tooth. The dentist decided it had been loose for too long and gave it a good yank at his cleaning last week. The tooth fairy brought another chapter book, and the drama of loose teeth is over (for now).....

almost grown

Andrew's had quite a month--starting first grade, going to his first Tiger scout meeting with dad, and losing his first tooth (the one next to it is hanging on my a thread). The tooth fairy brought a Junie B. First Grader book (a chapter book, he'll tell you), and he finished it that same day. Such a big boy....
